NZAFF Development Programs
Part of NZAFF's mandate is to improve the quality of American Football being played in New Zealand. Once or twice a year, at either end of summer, NZAFF hosts Development Programs to teach coaches and improve players.
At the end of the 2014/5 season, NZAFF hosted three American coaches for a two-day training course for NZ-based coaches. Using youth players as lab mice, the NZ coaches were taught how to run drills & exercises, how to structure a training session, and learned how to develop and implement their own playbook system.
The impact of this event was clear as coaches and players alike brought back new techniques and philosophies to their clubs.
