2026 NZAFF AGM

The Annual General Meeting of the New Zealand American Football Federation will be held on:
Date: Sunday 4 October, 2026
Venue: By Zoom video conference.
Time: 12:00pm
PLEASE NOTE:
Each Region and each Club/Association that is eligible to vote must nominate a delegate to attend the AGM and vote on behalf of the Region or Club/Association.
The names, and confirmation of email addresses, of the delegates need to be sent to the General Manager on or before Thursday 1st October.
Once the delegates are confirmed they will be directly invited to the Zoom meeting. The Zoom meeting link will be made available to the membership for any others who might want to attend.
If there are any items of business that you think need to be raised as per item 8 below it would help to have them notified in advance.
All Members are welcome to attend as observers.

Welcome
By the Chairperson.
Roll Call
and Apologies.
Annual Report.
The consideration and adoption of the 2025/26 Annual Report. The Annual Report will be delivered on or before the 1st October.
Financial Statements.
The receipt from the Board of a reviewed annual financial report for the preceding financial year.
Appointed Board Member.
There are two vacancies for the Appointed Board positions.
Dr Rachel Batty is not standing for re appointment.
Michael Curd is an interim Board member will be standing for one of the vacant positions.
The positions have been advertised and there have been a number of applications.
The Selection Panel will notify the GM of their choice for this position by 23rd September and the appointment will be subsequently notified to the clubs.
Elected Board Member.
There are two elected positions available this year and three applicants.
Donald McMillan, the current Chair of NZAFF, is retiring by rotation and is re-standing for his position.
Ariel Metekingi is an interim Board member and is standing for one of the vacant positions.
Katrina Buchanan is a member for the pacific Sharks and has governance experience through serving on the New Zealand Audiological Society Executive Council.
This year we will need to vote on the Elected Board members. The process will be advised.
NOTE: CV’s will be distributed with the next notice - the announcement of the Appointed Directors.
Motions Submitted for Approval
There are no motions submitted for approval at the AGM this year.
Other Business. Any items of business not listed on the agenda may be discussed and voted on as part of the AGM.
This can only happen by unanimous agreement of the Associations which are represented by Delegates at the AGM.
It would be helpful to have any items of business that members would like to have discussed, and voted on, notified in advance via email to Russell – gm@nzaff.co.nz.
Close of meeting.
Details regarding the AGM process can be found in the Constitution, Section 15, on the NZAFF web site under More/About/NZAFF Documents.
After the close of the meeting there will be the opportunity for discussion on any topics that the members want to discuss outside the formal part of the AGM.

Please note that the names of the Delegates for each Region and Club/Association eligible to vote must be received by 5pm, Thursday 1st of October.
