Kia Ora NZ American Footballers,
NZAFF are proud to introduce NZ's first ever Women's American Football Player Development Camp.
Date: Sunday 20th November 2022
Time: 10am-3pm
Location: Manurewa Sports Centre, Mountfort Park.
This Camp is a One-Day program, Free to attend event, developing both Tackle & Flag American Football skills.
We are excited to announce The Headline Coach for this Camp is 3rd Year Veteran, All - American, Pro- Athlete Kristyn Aoake - NZ born athlete, based in Dallas, Texas. Kristyn plays Pro Football in the prestigious US WFA Competition, she has played with the Dallas Elite Mustangs previously and has committed to the Houston Energy for 2023. Kristyn is a versatile athlete performing exceptionally in the Trenches as a Defensive End & Left Tackle, also making incredible stops as a Linebacker. Kristyn is affectionately known as “NEW ZEALAND” on the WFA scene where she is truly paving the way for other Kiwi girls who aspire to play abroad.
Kristyn approached NZAFF earlier this year announcing her visit home to NZ in November and expressed her interest in running a development camp for Women in NZ, where she can share her games smarts and American Football journey in the US with our Girls Of the Gridiron to help inspire our athlete’s & grow the Women's game in Aotearoa :D
This is an exciting opportunity for all Women in our sport, to enhance their positional skills and gain inspiration from one of our very own Wahine Toa doing it big in the US. We are inviting all American Football girls across the country to attend & enjoy this opportunity & kindly ask that Regions, Clubs & Coaches share this event within their Female membership & playing groups - who are also welcome to invite their friends along, as this camp is open to all females 16years+.
For planning purposes please ensure participants register here by 14th November 2022.
Developing Women’s American Football still remains a priority, we anticipate this Camp will be the first of many camps and opportunities within our sport for Women. We thank Kristyn for offering us the opportunity to work with her & we are very excited for the future of NZ Women's American Football.
Specific Camp Details can be found on the registration form here.
