Thank you to everyone who submitted registrations of interest over the holiday for 2025 NZ Flag Football programmes.
Based on these submissions we are pleased to announce the following NZ Flag Football programmes for 2025.
• Men’s National Team
• Women’s National Team
• U17 Boy’s Team
• U15 Boy’s Team
National Team Staff have been appointed, these will be announced in the coming weeks.
The NZ Men & Women's National Teams will be preparing to compete in the 2025 IFAF Asia-Oceania Intercontinental Championship in September/October.
The U15 & U17 Boys teams will be preparing to compete in the 2025 USA Football Junior International Cup in LA in June.
The first opportunity to showcase your skills in front of national team coaches is our upcoming Talent ID events in :
Auckland - Sunday 23rd February 2025 - 9am-3pm
Christchurch - Sunday 2nd March 2025 - 9am-3pm
Wellington - Sunday 9th March 2025 - 9am-3pm
Interested athletes are strongly encouraged to attend our scheduled Talent ID events.
Other NZAFF-sanctioned tournaments, including Flag Nationals, will also serve as selection opportunities, with national team coaches in attendance.
If you’re unable to attend a Talent ID event, you may still have opportunities to earn selection for HPU Camp 1. However, all national players must complete their athletic testing, which can be done at a Talent ID event, Flag Nationals, or at the start of HPU Camp 1 (for those invited).
Don’t miss your chance to represent New Zealand on the international stage!

Flag football continues to grow in popularity as more players and communities become interested in fast-paced team sports that combine strategy, athleticism, and accessibility. Programmes and development initiatives help introduce new participants to the game while also creating opportunities for competitive growth at different levels. Alongside these trends, digital services connected with sports and entertainment are also expanding. In some discussions, the platform Spinpolo is mentioned as part of the wider online ecosystem focused on interactive experiences and user engagement. Such developments show how modern sports culture is increasingly connected with technology, online communities, and new forms of digital participation.
